What's with the weather?

Okay, I can't take it. I have to vent. Bear with me.

Why is it that in NC we don't have fall? It's cold or hot, but never in between these days, and it's driving me nuts. It gets so warm you need the air conditioning to sleep, and the next night it's under 40F outside. I might go out of my mind.

The cold snaps are colder than usual for this time of year, too. Which leads me to believe the warm spells will finally go away and it'll stay REALLY cold. That's fine, as long as mother nature sheds a lot of white stuff on us. Cold is useless without white stuff.

AMEN!!!!! But being a native, you should know better. I can remember wearing shorts on Christmas Day...LOL!

The rain seems to be in a pattern of only coming before the cold during these little cycles and it's making us crazy, too.

I was going to mention earlier that you have been commenting a lot about the weather on facebook. Clearly there was some pent up frustration!

I think the two weeks in Hawaii was not good for my tolerance of NC weather. *sigh*

Well if you believe this sort of thing we should be having snow on or before December 21 since it thundered on Thursday. You know the old wives tale: thunder in winter and you'll have snow within 10 days. It thundered where I was on Thursday, the 11th.

But I'm not counting on snow because the 11th wasn't technically winter. Some of my work colleagues think that because it looks like winter and it feels like winter, it must be winter. We'll see. Keep an eye out for some flakes.

Regarding weather patterns, remember back to this summer. June was brutal then the rest of the summer was rather moderate overall. So maybe winter will be the same with a rough start but a gentle slide into spring.

Meteorologist over and out.

Oh, I hate these warm, muggy days when it should be cold. They are a breeding ground for germs (I feel my next cold coming on right now) and they make my kids want to wear short sleeves and shorts. In December. It's just not right.

I am, like you, hoping for snow. Lots and lots of snow:)

Zach ALWAYS wears short sleeves and shorts because his dad does. I'm just saying.

Thanks for the weather lesson, Shel. You are full of so much useful info!

As for wishing for snow: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
